Oakeshott was crowned the best overall house in the annual Tonbridge cross-country race, The CRAS.

Oakeshott also won the senior race, with Ferox Hall taking the junior title and Park House winning the Novi (first year) competition.

The CRAS:  A brief history

The first Tonbridge cross country event took place on Saturday, 25 March 1905, replacing the old steeplechase events.  This first, six-mile, race was won in a time of 33 minutes by E S Dougall, who subsequently became a running blue at Cambridge and won a VC in the First World War.

It has been known as ‘The CRAS’ since about 1910.  The origins of the name are obscure.  The CRAS was originally run over roads and field paths but now takes place in school grounds.  It is a House Competition with three age categories:  Novi (first year), Juniors (years two and three) and Seniors (Sixth Form).
